Job Readiness Resources for People in Recovery

There are many job opportunities for people in recovery. While searching for a job that promotes your new lifestyle might seem challenging, there are many resources to help you find opportunities. Check out the Iowa Works website for state-wide job postings.

Additionally, there are many resources that can help improve your job readiness. Not only can these resources help you find careers that connect with your skills, but they can also prepare you for other aspects of your job search, such as resume preparation, interviewing skills, and tips for your first day. The State of Iowa is offering job readiness workshops both virtually, and in person at IowaWORKS locations. Consider attending a workshop, and meeting with a job readiness expert to jumpstart your job search.

Don’t wait until everything is just right. It will never be perfect. There will always be challenges, obstacles, and less than perfect conditions. So what? Get started now. With each step you take, you will grow stronger and stronger, more and more skilled, more and more self-confident, and more and more successful.” —Mark Victor Hansen
